The Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.The department mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the evening or night in the rest of the island.The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
